Zenith’s drive to raise £50,000 to mark our 50th anniversary has been given a huge boost.

The Roper Family Charitable Trust has pledged to match every pound raised by the Zenith Youth Theatre Company as it prepares to celebrate its golden anniversary in 2013.

The trust was established by Brian Rhodes, the owner of bathroom supplier Roper Rhodes group, who said: “We are impressed with Zenith YTC’s ambitious programme of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary.”

He said he was particularly keen to support the legacy aspect of the fundraising plans including the establishment of an annual drama school bursary for members and investment   in St Mark’s Community Centre at Widcombe.

The group, formerly known as Bodlets, wants to raise £10,000 by Easter of next year and members have been carol singing and bag packing in the run-up to Christmas.
